What Our Customers Say

Miroslaw Zawadka
We’ve been working with Rafal for the past two years, and I couldn’t be happier with his services. He’s incredibly reliable, always professional, and takes the time to explain things in detail. One of the best parts is that he speaks both Polish and English, which makes communication a breeze. Highly recommend him for anyone looking for an experienced and trustworthy accountant!

Damian Liszka
I have been using the Tax Accounting Group for over one year. I am very pleased with the professionalism of Rafal’s services. He is very knowledgeable and has a lot of passion for his work. As a small business owner I highly recommend the Tax Accounting Group to anyone who wants outstanding tax services.

Raf has been taxing care of my company’s tax for the last few years. A big positive change from the previous two tax agencies I had tried. Raf takes a personal, hands-on attitude – I feel as though he treats my company accounting as though it were his own. Raf is extremely knowledgeable and helpful.

Camellia Nguyen
It was such a relief for me to let Raf do all of my tax return in the past few years. There is alot of thing I don’t know about doing a proper tax return. Since I used Raf’s service, I received a much bigger return that I had previously. One less thing to worry about every financial year: check!

Cuba Daniel
I’ve been through several different accountants in the past and no other accountant put so much time and effort into understanding my family businesses including our complex family business structure than Tax Accounting Group and Raf in particular. My family had overdue returns, my businesses had messy accounts (despite paying bookkeppers) and I always felt like I was overpaying my taxes. Raf and his team not only brought all my accounts up to date and prepared all my outstanding business returns but Raf also made sure I understood what he was doing. He even found some errors in my already lodged tax returns and amended them saving me a couple of thousands! Raf is very responsive and would always promptly answer every question I had. He knows his stuff and is very easy to talk to. Thank you for your hard work!

Adrian Taylor
I have used Raf for my personal tax returns over the past couple of years. He is extremely helpful and knowledgeable regarding the process and made suggestions on things we could claim for that my wife and I never even considered previously. I have typically taken a DIY stance when it came to tax returns prior to going through Tax Accounting Group; though this often meant i only got to claim back a couple of hundred dollars in previous years. This time i got a $3000 refund and last year $2500. So for the price I paid for engaging Raf to do my last couple of tax returns, it was worth it many times over. Definitely recommend others to use them and in doing so support this local small business.
You have money, assets or a structure outside Australia, and the question has started to feel uncomfortable.
Maybe it is an offshore bank account. Maybe it is a foreign company, trust, investment portfolio, property, pension, inheritance, cryptocurrency account or business arrangement created years ago. Maybe the income has been reported overseas, but you are not sure whether Australia has seen the full picture.
I’m Rafal Slowinski, Director of Tax Accounting Group Pty Ltd. I help individuals, families and business owners in Sydney work through offshore tax questions with a clear focus on disclosure, compliance and the Australian tax position.
The concern is usually not about a single transaction. It is the whole arrangement: what exists offshore, who controls it, what income it produces, what has been reported and what still needs to be explained.

First, We Identify What Actually Exists Offshore
Rafal Slowinski is a highly accomplished tax specialist and the Director of Tax Accounting Group Pty Ltd. He holds a degree in Accounting and Tax Law from the University of New South Wales, and his work has focused on making complex tax structures easier for Australian business owners and taxpayers to understand.
He has partnered with more than 2,000 businesses, delivering tailored accounting solutions and sophisticated, compliant tax minimisation strategies. His proactive approach is centred on identifying hidden efficiencies, safeguarding wealth and helping clients solve serious financial and regulatory challenges.
With offshore tax, I do not begin with a label like “offshore structure” and assume the answer.
I want to know what sits overseas, why it was created, who owns it, who controls it, what income it produced, what tax has already been paid and whether Australian tax returns or disclosures have dealt with it correctly.
That first mapping step matters. Without it, the advice can become too vague to protect you.

Offshore Does Not Mean Outside Australia’s View
An offshore account or entity may be physically outside Australia, but that does not automatically place it outside Australian tax reporting.
The Australian tax position can depend on residency, ownership, control, source of income, foreign tax paid, double tax agreement issues, company or trust rules and whether the arrangement has been disclosed properly.
For some clients, the issue is simple but overdue: interest, dividends or rental income from overseas was missed.
For others, the offshore arrangement is more complex. A foreign company may hold assets. A trust may have beneficiaries in Australia. A business may have overseas operations. Funds may have moved between countries without a clear explanation. An inheritance or family asset overseas may now need to be dealt with in an Australian return.
I help you sort offshore facts into an Australian tax position that is clear and defensible.

Offshore Tax Advice Before The ATO Asks First
Offshore tax matters are not an area where guessing is safe.
If the ATO asks about offshore income, foreign assets, overseas accounts, unexplained transfers or an offshore entity, the response needs to be based on documents and a clear timeline. A rushed explanation from memory is rarely enough.
I can help review the arrangement before it reaches that point.
That may include offshore income reporting, foreign bank interest, investment income, property income, overseas companies, foreign trusts, offshore pensions, asset sales, related-party payments, overseas inheritances, foreign tax paid and records from advisers or institutions outside Australia.
If there are gaps in past reporting, I can help you understand what may need to be reviewed before a correction or amendment is considered.

The Questions That Usually Change The Answer
Offshore tax advice depends heavily on facts that may seem small at first:
Was the account personal or business-related?
Was income earned, or was money only transferred?
Was tax paid overseas?
Were you an Australian tax resident during the relevant period?
Did you control the overseas entity?
Was the asset inherited, purchased, gifted or transferred?
Was the arrangement reported in a prior Australian return?
Is there a foreign accountant, lawyer or adviser already involved?
These questions help separate a reporting issue from a structure issue, a residency issue from an income issue and a historical cleanup from a current-year tax matter.
As an offshore tax advisor in Sydney, I help clients work through those questions carefully before deciding what needs to be disclosed, calculated, corrected or reviewed further.

Offshore Companies, Trusts And Family Arrangements
Offshore entities can become difficult when the paperwork is spread across countries.
A company may have directors, shareholders, bank accounts, loans, retained profits or assets overseas. A trust may have foreign trustees, Australian beneficiaries or assets that have never been properly explained in Australia. A family arrangement may have been created for estate planning, asset holding or business reasons, but the Australian tax impact may not have been reviewed.
I can review the accounting and tax side of the arrangement and identify where specialist legal or overseas tax advice may also be needed.
The aim is to understand how the offshore structure connects to the Australian taxpayer, not to pretend every offshore arrangement is the same.

When Money Has Moved Between Countries
Large transfers can raise questions even when the money itself is not new income.
Funds may have moved from a foreign bank account to Australia. A family member may have sent money. A company may have paid a related entity. An offshore investment may have been sold. A loan may have been repaid. A foreign inheritance may have been deposited into an Australian account.
The transfer needs context.
I help review what the payment represents, what documents support it and whether income tax, capital gains tax, foreign tax credits, trust issues, company issues or disclosure obligations may be involved.
A bank transfer alone rarely tells the full tax story.

Bring The Offshore Arrangement Into One Clear Timeline
If you need an offshore tax advisor in Sydney, start with the offshore asset, account, entity or transfer that is creating concern.
Bring the dates, documents, statements, tax records, ownership details and any ATO correspondence you already have. Rafal can help you work through what Australia may need to know, what has already been reported and what should be reviewed next.
Frequently Asked Questions
No. An offshore bank account is not automatically a problem, but income, interest, transfers, ownership and tax residency may need to be reviewed. The issue is whether the account and any income connected to it have been reported correctly.
An inherited offshore asset may still raise Australian tax questions, especially if it later produces income, is sold, transferred, or linked to foreign tax records. Rafal can review the documents and explain what needs to be considered.
Yes. Rafal can review the offshore income, asset, entity or transfer, compare it with what was lodged and explain whether a correction, amendment or further review should be considered.
Sometimes. If the arrangement involves foreign legal documents, overseas company law, foreign trust law or tax already assessed in another country, an overseas adviser may be needed. Rafal can help keep the Australian tax and accounting side clear while that advice is gathered.
