What Our Customers Say

Miroslaw Zawadka
We’ve been working with Rafal for the past two years, and I couldn’t be happier with his services. He’s incredibly reliable, always professional, and takes the time to explain things in detail. One of the best parts is that he speaks both Polish and English, which makes communication a breeze. Highly recommend him for anyone looking for an experienced and trustworthy accountant!

Damian Liszka
I have been using the Tax Accounting Group for over one year. I am very pleased with the professionalism of Rafal’s services. He is very knowledgeable and has a lot of passion for his work. As a small business owner I highly recommend the Tax Accounting Group to anyone who wants outstanding tax services.

Raf has been taxing care of my company’s tax for the last few years. A big positive change from the previous two tax agencies I had tried. Raf takes a personal, hands-on attitude – I feel as though he treats my company accounting as though it were his own. Raf is extremely knowledgeable and helpful.

Camellia Nguyen
It was such a relief for me to let Raf do all of my tax return in the past few years. There is alot of thing I don’t know about doing a proper tax return. Since I used Raf’s service, I received a much bigger return that I had previously. One less thing to worry about every financial year: check!

Cuba Daniel
I’ve been through several different accountants in the past and no other accountant put so much time and effort into understanding my family businesses including our complex family business structure than Tax Accounting Group and Raf in particular. My family had overdue returns, my businesses had messy accounts (despite paying bookkeppers) and I always felt like I was overpaying my taxes. Raf and his team not only brought all my accounts up to date and prepared all my outstanding business returns but Raf also made sure I understood what he was doing. He even found some errors in my already lodged tax returns and amended them saving me a couple of thousands! Raf is very responsive and would always promptly answer every question I had. He knows his stuff and is very easy to talk to. Thank you for your hard work!

Adrian Taylor
I have used Raf for my personal tax returns over the past couple of years. He is extremely helpful and knowledgeable regarding the process and made suggestions on things we could claim for that my wife and I never even considered previously. I have typically taken a DIY stance when it came to tax returns prior to going through Tax Accounting Group; though this often meant i only got to claim back a couple of hundred dollars in previous years. This time i got a $3000 refund and last year $2500. So for the price I paid for engaging Raf to do my last couple of tax returns, it was worth it many times over. Definitely recommend others to use them and in doing so support this local small business.
Capital gains tax and GST can be costly when they are only assessed after the deal is done.
You might be selling an investment property, transferring an asset, selling a business, changing a structure or trying to work out whether GST applies to a property transaction. You may know there will be a tax issue, but not know how large it could be or what records are needed to calculate it properly.
I’m Rafal Slowinski, Director of Tax Accounting Group Pty Ltd. I help individuals, investors and business owners in Sydney understand the tax consequences before they sell, transfer or restructure an asset.
If you need capital gains tax advice in Sydney, the best time to ask is before the decision becomes locked in.

Hi, I’m Rafal
Rafal Slowinski is a highly accomplished tax specialist and the Director of Tax Accounting Group Pty Ltd. To date, Rafal has partnered with over 2,000 businesses, delivering tailored accounting solutions and sophisticated, compliant tax minimisation strategies. Known for his proactive approach, he specialises in identifying hidden efficiencies, safeguarding wealth and helping businesses solve their most critical financial and regulatory challenges.
With CGT and GST, my job is to help you see the tax result before it surprises you.
I look at what is being sold or transferred, who owns it, how it has been used, what records are available, whether any concessions may apply and whether GST needs to be considered as part of the transaction.
That gives you a clearer position before you sign, settle or lodge.

When A Sale Creates More Tax Questions Than Expected
Many CGT problems begin with a simple assumption.
You may assume your main residence is fully exempt. You may assume an investment property sale is straightforward. You may assume a business asset qualifies for a concession. You may assume GST does not apply because the transaction looks private or property-related.
Those assumptions can be risky.
CGT depends on the asset, ownership history, cost base, timing, use of the asset, improvements, losses, exemptions and concessions. GST can depend on whether the transaction is connected to an enterprise, whether the seller is registered or required to be registered, the type of property or business being sold and how the contract is structured.
I help you slow down the transaction and properly check the tax position.

CGT Advice in Sydney Before You Sell
- Good CGT advice in Sydney should not be limited to calculating the gain after settlement. Before a sale, I can help review the likely capital gain, the cost base, purchase records, improvement costs, legal fees, selling costs, ownership history, available capital losses and possible concessions. For property owners, that may include main residence issues, periods of rental use, mixed personal and business use, inherited property or investment property records. For business owners, it may include active assets, company or trust structures, small business CGT concessions, retirement planning, related-party transfers or restructuring decisions.Once the facts are clear, I explain what the likely tax position looks like and what still needs to be confirmed before the transaction moves forward.

GST Advice When Property Or Business Assets Are Involved
GST is often missed because people assume it works the same way as income tax or CGT.
It does not.
GST may need to be considered when selling business assets, commercial property, new residential property, development property or a business as a going concern. It may also affect invoices, BAS reporting, GST credits and the way a contract should be reviewed before signing.
I can help you understand whether GST needs to be considered, what records are needed and how the GST treatment connects with your BAS and tax return.
If a solicitor or conveyancer is preparing the contract, I can work with them so the tax and accounting issues are not left until after settlement.

What I Check Before Giving CGT Or GST Advice
Before I give advice, I want to understand the full transaction:
- Who owns the asset?
- When was it acquired?
- How has it been used?
- Is it held personally, through a company, a trust, a partnership or an SMSF?
- Are there purchase contracts, settlement statements, improvement records and selling cost records?
- Has the asset been rented, used in business or partly used as a main residence?
- Is the seller registered for GST or required to be registered?
- Is this a property sale, business sale, asset transfer, restructure or family transaction?
These details matter because small facts can change the tax outcome.
A CGT advisor in Sydney should not make a guess based on the sale price alone. The correct advice comes from understanding the asset’s history, structure and transaction before calculating the result.

If The Sale Has Already Happened
It is better to get advice before the transaction, but I can still help if the sale has already happened.
I can review the documents, reconstruct the cost base where possible, check whether exemptions or concessions may apply, calculate the capital gain or loss and help report the result correctly in your tax return.
If GST was not considered before the transaction, I can help review the position and explain what may need to be corrected or reported.
The goal is to give you a clear and compliant way forward, even if the timing was not ideal.
